And my publisher is…

With the contract for Samuel’s Kisses signed and in the mail, I can breathe a huge sigh of relief and believe I really am about to be published in Australia. I’m delighted to announce my publisher is… (drum roll, please)

New Frontier Publishing!

New Frontier publish a wide range of excellent books by Australian authors, and I don’t just say that because I’m joining their list. Their books really are magnificent. Sally Odgers, Sally Murphy, Mark Carthew, Peter Carnavas and Janeen Brian have all had divine picture books published with New Frontier and I can’t believe mine is going to sit alongside them with the New Frontier logo on the spine.

And, just to add to the excitement, the illustrator of Samuel’s Kisses is none other than Janine Dawson, whose illustrations were recently featured in another gem of a New Frontier book, Delilah’s Dream. I can’t wait to see Janine’s interpretation of the text. She is super-talented and I love her work.

Samuel’s Kisses is scheduled for release in September, 2010. As someone pointed out, that means in less than a year I’ll hold the first copy of this very precious story in my hands. Then you just might hear me squeal.
